I've never been religious. I wondered how people was so sure that God loved them. How could they love someone they knew through the words of a third? "He died for you". That was not my god.

Mis dioses estaban descansando en una montaña. Mi casa ya no les ofrece una comida cada Septiembre, porque empezaron a creer en un dios diferente.
Made images of spaces where it was said gods would be in books I’ve read, particularly “The Song of the East”. This book compiles several stories written with the intention of describing the korean spirit. There was a constant topic on the search of an adequate final resting place for family ancestors. Ancestors were the gods of each family. Without land belonging to the family, no mountain, no proper place for flesh and bone: succession ends and loses its starting point too. As a tomb requires from the living to continue existing; death is only final when no one remembers.
From notions of what could that final resting place, started a series of scenes to photograph and inhabit. As the maker of it I think the work was sentient its own fiction. Meant to be landscape views from Kachi Maul, but I think is more like a personal wish of something I just wanted to see.

Hice imágenes de espacios donde los dioses decían estar en libros. ”La canción del Este” compila varias historias con la intención de describir el espíritu koreano. La búsqueda del lugar dónde los difuntos debían descansar era una constante durante la lectura. Los ancestros eran los dioses de la familia. Sin tierra de la familia, sin montaña, sin un lugar apropiado para reposar carne y hueso: la sucesión termina y pierde su punto de partida también. Así una tumba requiere de los vivos para seguir existiendo: la muerte real es cuando nadie recuerde.
Desde nociones imaginarias de los que podría ser un lugar de descanso para mí, empece una serie de escenas para fotografías y habitar. Como artífice de esto creo que las piezas mismas eran conscientes de su ficción. Con la intención de ser paisajes vistos desde Kachi Maul, pero creo que son más bien una vista personal de algo que quería ver.
